Also this year the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism adheres to the European Heritage Days 2016. This is an extraordinary initiative set up in 1991 with the aim of strengthening and fostering dialogue and cultural exchange in Europe.
For the occasion, the 24 and 25 September 2016, many places of culture, including museums, galleries and palaces will be open to the public until late evening. I also adhere to non-state sites and museums to the initiative. Extraordinary events and openings are scheduled with a calendar that reaches over a thousand events.
The highlight of the European Heritage Days 2016 will surely be the evening openings, where you can access the sites indicated by paying a symbolic ticket of only 1,00 €. Schedules and locations are available on the official website, available from this link. Keep in mind that, by accessing ordinary hours, you will not be able to use the special rate of one euro.
The 2015 edition has received tremendous feedback. Suffice it to say that, only in state museums, 380 thousand entries have been registered!
Among the not-to-be-missed complexes we mention, for example, the National archeologic museum of Naples, or the Ruins of Pompeii ed Herculaneum. You can travel through these fantastic places in a truly evocative and fascinating environment. In Rome, you can visit, in the evening, the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art; theNational Archive; Sant'Angelo castel. It's still, Villa Adriana in Tivoli or the splendid one Museum of Palazzo Reale in Genoa and much more. An absolutely incredible list.
We remind you that entry is allowed within 45 minutes from closing.
All that remains is to wish you, have fun with them
