Tired of the usual holidays, all sun, sea and beaches? Want to escape the oppressive heat of the city? The Europe of the North is ideal in July, thanks to a rather pleasant climate.
The protagonist of the month is the Capital of Finland which, during the first week of August, hosts the Weekend Festival.
Born in 2012, today it is the reference point in the European EDM (Electronic Dance Music) panorama. An event that attracts thousands of fans, thanks to a line-up of extraordinary impact that unites guests of international renown with emerging Finnish artists. Great names on the bill, even for the 2019 edition.
The result is a fresh, young and fun festival that ranges over numerous genres of electronic music. A particularly beloved and successful event which, over the years, has received several awards. Of these, a nomination for Best Medium-sized Festival at the 2013 European Festival Awards along with some "sacred monsters". In the same year, YleX listeners voted for him as the best summer festival in Europe.
Access is allowed exclusively to children over the age of 15. Minors can enter only if accompanied by an adult. NO alcohol will be served to children under 18 years.

Wifi is available in numerous areas of the Weekend Festival. Keep in mind that, being used by many visitors, the speed could be extremely reduced.
HOW TO GET
The international airport of Helsinki-Vantaa it is connected to the main European and extra-European destinations. It is the main airport of Finland, located about 20 km from the capital.
The suburban circular railway lines (I and P) connect the airport and the center. The journey takes approximately half an hour and the train ticket costs 5,50 €.
To get to the Weekend Festival, you will have to reach Suvihlati, a former energy production area in Sörnäinen, Helsinki. The place is easily accessible by public transport. With the Metro's M1 and M2 lines, you go down to Kalasatama, and within minutes you arrive at your destination. Suvihlati is also the stop for numerous bus lines, which pass in the immediate vicinity of the location.
The 2019 edition will take place over two days, the 19 and 20 July 2019. The lineup is really top notch. Friday, among the protagonists there will be Lil Uzi Vert, JID, DVBBS, Armin Van Buuren and Robin Shultz.
Saturday, instead, it's up to Afrojack, Bastille, Headhunterz, $ uicideboi $, Alan Walker, Swedish House Mafia and many others.
Tickets are on sale, on the official website, in different steps. For each period a limited number of coupons are available at an increasing price. By buying in advance, you will get interesting discounts. Keep in mind that, behind the event, it is very likely that the tickets are all finished.
Here are the tickets available for the 2019 Weekend Festival:
- Single day: access, by choice, for Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Cost 95.00 € per person in the Standard version, and 145.00 € VIP; with the latter, you will have access to VIP lounges and exclusive areas.
- 2 days: access for the whole weekend. The normal ticket costs 155.00 €, while the VIP ticket costs 275.00 €.
The various tickets for the AFTERPARTY cost from € 15.00 to € 45.00 depending on the type.
