Malta: a wonderful island, between sun, sea and the many testimonies of the past. A place to admire in every corner, and foreshortening. And above all, a place to savor ... with a good glass of wine.
Because the most important wine festival in the country takes place every year in this suggestive land, south of Sicily: the Delicata Wine Festival.
The festival, which has reached its 18 edition this year, takes place in two different stages, in August, in Valletta and Gozo.
The protagonists, of course, will be the delicious native wines, which you will be able to enjoy during the 7 days of the event.
A total of 20 wines, from 10 different award-winning vintages.
Wines from the Girgentina and Ġellewża vines; the sumptuous wines of the selection Great Cavalier and the range Grand Vin de Hauteville, of international renown. And, again, a selection of white, red, sparkling wines, boutique wines, and noble wines. The exclusives The Falcon, is Moscato Box.
All, of course, will be accompanied by traditional local dishes, which you can enjoy from the various stands set up in the area.
The Delicata Wine festival is, without a doubt, a good excuse for a holiday in Malta. The best way to appreciate this fantastic country.
HOW TO GET
The Delicata Wine Festival takes place in Malta, over two long weekends, in as many locations.
First appointment, from Thursday 08 to Sunday 11 August a Valletta, at the Barrakka Gardens plants.
If you are in the capital, you can easily get there on foot. Alternatively, with the 133 bus, get off at the Kurcifiss stop.
Second and last stage will be Gozo, from 23 to 25 August. Meet at the Gnien Il-Kunsil gardens in Nadur.
You can use the 303 bus line.
Wines and many gastronomic products, will be offered on the various stalls of Valletta and Gozo. There will be traditional Maltese dishes, and many international dishes.
Every night, from the 21: around 00, live concerts and performances, with emerging bands, and local artists
TICKETS AND TIMES
Access to the Delicata Wine Festival is free. Only the consumptions are paid, through a system of coins that you can buy at the entrance.
Wines and spirits will not be served to children under the age of 17 years.
The Festival takes place, every day, starting at 19: 00, until midnight.
The wines will be paid up to the 23: 30.
