Salerno shines with its own light during Christmas. Luci d'Artista is the traditional appointment that has now become one of the landmarks of Southern Italy, now in its twelfth edition.
Spectacular illuminations, in a blaze of lights and colors. Shows and shows. Crib shows. Traditional Christmas markets. A wonderful Ferris wheel, which offers a unique glance over the whole city. All this, in the picturesque setting of the waterfront and the historic center of Salerno.
Not far from the splendid Naples, Luci d'Artista is an event not to be missed, for the whole family. An event capable of enhancing an entire city. Besides 100 stands set up in various parts of the city, where you can buy decorations, toys, food and wine products and all sorts of gifts.
Friday 09 November 2018, official opening of the 2018 Artist Lights, at 17: 00 in point. On the weekend of the Immaculate Conception, the Italian actress Cristiana Capotondi will play the role of official godmother of the Christmas tree lighting.

The Luci d'Artista lights are set on the seafront, the Villa Comunale, Piazza Flavio Gioia and throughout the historic center. Here, besides, these real works of art, you can walk among the characteristic wooden houses.
For the little ones, do not miss Santa's house.
In the subgrade of the Concordia, the beautiful Ferris wheel represents another top event for the whole family. Open every day, from the 10: 00 to the 24: 00, it is ideal for having a fantastic glance over the city, all lit up, from 60 meters in height. The ticket costs 9.00 € for adults and 6.00 € for children.
At Palazzo Portanova, in Piazza Matteotti, and at the Chapel of the Savior in Via Mercanti, there is an extraordinary Show Crib. You can admire over thirty beautiful works by master cribs from all over Campania. Admission is free, with an offer of your choice. All proceeds from the offers will be donated to charity.
Appointment from Monday to Sunday, from 16 to 21, up to 13 January 2019.
Remaining in terms of exhibitions, at the Stazione Marittima, instead, a curious exhibition of cribs of sand.
Saturday 15 December 2018, at the 20: 30, at the beautiful Cathedral of Salerno, awaits you Christmas Concert, with the Choir of the Diocese of Salerno and the Campana Philharmonic Orchestra.
HOW TO GET
Salerno is easily accessible by car and public transport. The international airport of Naples-Capodichino is an excellent base for reaching the Luci d'Artista location.
The international airport, well connected to the main European destinations, is just over 50 kilometers from Salerno.
By train, or by renting a car, you can easily get to your destination.
From the center of Naples, Trenitalia and Italo, they guarantee numerous daily connections with the city of Salerno. The journey takes about 40 minutes.
To the north, Rome is about 270 kilometers; Florence, 510 kilometers, while Milan around 810.
