Holland, a land of charm and great traditions. Of great places and beautiful landscapes. From March to May, for almost two months, spring is celebrated in an explosion of perfumes and colors. Keukenhof awaits you with the most beautiful spring garden in the world.
At least, this is what the organizers say. According to the opinions of the visitors of the last editions, we can bet that what has been stated is not far from the truth.
The wonderful botanical park, is hosted in the town of Lisse, not surprisingly, known as the city of flowers.
Waiting for you, over 32 hectares of flowers and a total of 800 varieties of tulips. A truly incredible and sensational experience. A unique and wonderful place, between magic and colors. In addition to admiring the beautiful floral varieties, you can witness fantastic shows, events, exhibitions and artistic creations, such as the mosaic of tulips. All inspired by the magic of flowers.
The theme of this 67a edition will be Romance in Flowers, or the romance of flowers. The spectacle of roses, fascinating is wonderful, with the flower symbol of love. Romantic gardens: the Paradise of Love and the Garden of Cupid. And finally, Romance at the Keukenhof, a classical music festival that will take place among the park's tulips.
But Keukenhof is also a time for the family and children. There are really many initiatives dedicated to the little ones. From the treasure hunt, to games, passing through the farm. And, of course, the inevitable playground. You can spend a fantastic day together, full of fun.
HOW TO GET
The town of Lisse, which hosts the Festival, is about 35 kilometers from Amsterdam. The latter is an excellent basis for reaching the Festival. From the international airport of Amsterdam-SchipholIn fact, the 361 Noordwijk bus leaves, which, in less than half an hour, leads to Lisse. From Haarlem Station, there is the 50 Bus. From Leiden, the 854 bus.
WHAT TO DO AND SEE
FLOWER POWER it will be the theme of this 70 edition of the Keukenhof Festival 2019. Various shows are housed in the pavilions of the Botanical Park.
Il Willem-Alexander Pavilion, shows thousands of varieties of tulips with the largest show of lilies in the world. Very beautiful!
Lovers of orchids and anthurium will be able to admire its beauty at the Beatrix Hall.
THE 'Orange Nassau Pavilion, hosts exhibitions for images, with colorful floral displays that change every week.
Tulpomania is a fantastic exhibition on the tulip, its history, the varieties and the characters linked to the traditional flower. You can get advice and suggestions on the use and cultivation of the flower.
Keukenhof is also a time for the family and children. There are really many initiatives dedicated to the little ones. The fun treasure hunt, the games, the farm with the animals. And, of course, creative workshops for the little ones.
The entrance ticket gives you access to the Keukenhof Festival for a whole day. The ticket for adult Costa 18,00 €. Children from 4 to 11 years of age pay the reduced rate of 8,00 €. Free for children under the age of 4 not completed.
Parking for your car costs 6,00 € for the whole day.
Suggested boat excursions are not to be missed. You can admire the spectacle of the Keukenhof Festival, from the most romantic and suggestive side.
The adult rate is € 8,00. Reduced, for children from 4 to 11 years, 4,00 €. Free for children up to 4 years old. The ticket office is located at the Mill in the park.
From 09: 30 to 19: 00, you can rent a bike to explore Keukenhof and the surrounding area. The price for the whole day is € 10.00 for the bike and € 25.00 for the tandem. Complimentary you will receive a map with the list of cycle paths.
WHERE TO SLEEP
Although the accommodation offer is not comparable to Amsterdam, if you book a little early from the date of arrival, you will find excellent solutions to Lisse.
