Guide and practical info on the best time to go to Norway

When it comes to holidays in the Nordic countries, and in Scandinavia, the climate is one of the main obstacles.
In fact, on this latitude, Alaska or Canada can be found, not exactly hot places.
Still, Norway is a bit of an exception.
Especially thanks to the influences of the Gulf Stream, which make the country less cold than one might imagine.

Throughout Norway, at least 5 can be distinguished from large climate areas. We move from a mostly oceanic climate, typical of the western area, to a continental climate, as we move away from the ocean.
Much of the coast, therefore, is characterized by winters that are not too rigid and particularly rainy, and cool summers.

The best time to go to Norway? No doubt the summer. Whatever your destination.
The worst time to go to Norway is winter. Especially if your destination is inland, due to cold temperatures.

Through our κ index, we provide an assessment for every single month. This way, you can evaluate the best time when to go to Norway.

MONTH TOP

In June and July, temperatures are ideal for visiting the country. As far as possible, you might even feel a little warm. Attention only to the temperature range. It is always a good idea to pack some windbreaker and sweater for the evening. In the case of navigation, keep some waterproofs within reach.
A winter holiday is not to be excluded, when it comes to December. And above all, Christmas. Entire cities, festively decorated, all lit up and covered with white snow. Images of other times that certainly deserve some attention.

MONTH FLOP

January and February are the least recommended times to go to Norway. Few, or zero, international events. The days are incredibly short, with little sun, anything but ideal for going around visiting the city.
Of course, if you love crib images, places completely covered with snow, and suggestive images, then ... you might even think about organizing your trip. Even in the middle of winter!
