What to do and see at the Palace and Park of Versailles. Info, timetables, tickets

The palace and park of Versailles is one of those places entered, with full rights, in the collective imagination. One of the symbols of France, and of Paris, of which, cinema and literature, are really full.

Moreover, the Palace and Park of Versailles is one of the most visited places in the country. A truly wonderful place. A unique and suggestive place, which represents a return to the past. Difficult to remain indifferent to its majesty. To its beauty. To the story that emanates from every corner and every room.

Strongly desired by Louis IX, whose figure has remained inextricably linked, the Palace stands on a surface of over 60000 square meters. Its splendid park, sometimes interminable, covers an area of about 800 hectares. If they look like many, think that before the French revolution, they were 8000!

The Palace can be imagined as a kind of large condominium, where aristocrats, senior officials and the royal court used to stay. At the center of the complex, the Chambre du Roi, around which everything revolved. The centre of the world!

Today, to visit the Palace and the Park of Versailles, you have to spend almost an entire day. There is really, very much to see, between the Royal Palace, the Grand et Petit Trianon, the Hameau de la Reine and the two stables. Here, works of extraordinary value are preserved, from the fifteenth century until the twentieth century
