Downtown Los Angeles

Downtown is the financial center of Los Angeles, where there are shops and restaurants; this is the center, but in Los Angeles; in reality, everything takes place along the coast; Our recommendation is to stay on the ocean and not spend too much time at LA Financial Heart.

Do not miss El Pueblo, a small and picturesque district with Mexican influences where you can find a market, many Souvenir objects and taste some good Tacos; although a little tourist, a visit at least fast, it's worth it.

Always in Downtown do not miss the MOCA (museum of contemporary arts).

Orange County, is a wonderful, lush Southern California county; located between the cities of Los Angeles (to the north) and San Diego (to the south).

The capital is Santa Ana while the most populous city is Newport Beach.

Here they shot the successful American TV series the OC; moreover, in this enormous language of the coast, lives a large part of the population with the highest per capita income of California.

In Santa Monica, we recommend staying, as it is perfect for the proximity to the beach and offers many attractions, restaurants and clubs.

Venice Beach

Venice Beach or Venice as the Californians call it; It is the most important tourist destination and loved by tourists from all over the world.

Venice was founded by Abbot Kinney in 1905 on the Renaissance model of the city of Venice, thanks to the presence of many Canali; with the years of Venice only its name remained, giving full rein to Kitsch and American eccentricity.

Bohemian-style buildings, murals, a boardwalk where unique characters are found, nonconformists, street performers and many souvenirs; in what is the most incredible beach in the world.

One of the peculiarities is "muscle beach", with outdoor gym and body builder throughout the show; you will rarely see so many people doing sport by the sea.

You will also find the opportunity to taste the excellent street food in the many kiosks that populate Venice, last recommendation, avoid this area at night; because it is not difficult to find unwelcome characters or drunks looking for trouble.

Redondo Beach

Redondo beach is located south of Los Angeles; and it is one of the most characteristic and quiet beaches of California, if you are with the car, a large car park awaits you; so you can start the visit comfortably on foot and in total relaxation.

This coastal location is less noisy and commercial than the most famous Venice or Santa Monica and retains that relaxed and typical California atmosphere.

Kanoa advised to explore the pretty marina (photo above); with on the sides a walkway where you can enjoy a meal or drink a cocktail; in one of the many restaurants of the Redondo Beach Pier.

Also in this area, the fishermen with their fishing boats, offer along the quay the catch of the day, you can choose it and make it cook before your eyes; in these parts, you can not taste the real crab soup.

Unmissable Theme Parks

The United States is the Mecca of theme parks, whether you visit the East or West coast you will find large parks; that satisfy the desire for lighthearted playfulness of everyone, young and old.

In California the unmissable parks according to Kanoa are:

Universal Studios and Disneyland.

Universal Studios in Los Angeles is a theme park that recalls all the films that have more or less marked the lives of everyone; from Jurassic Park to Transformers, from the famous Squalo to the Simpsons, in short you will be catapulted into a fantastic world!

In addition to the classic rides, you will be hit by a series of almost real characters, the attractions are all included in the admission ticket, which although expensive; will allow you to spend an unforgettable day.

This unforgettable tour includes a picturesque ride aboard a train; that will accompany you along the film sets that have made the story of Hollywood; also some stops, they also provide performances in 3D and 4D, surprisingly including magnificent special effects.

The last attraction added is that of Harry Potter's Magical World.

The tour lasts about 2 hours, an English guide is also provided.

Address: 100 Universal City Plaza, Universal City, CA 91608 (north downtown Los Angeles area)

How to get: we suggest taking the Red Line of the Metro and getting off at Universal City and from here take the free shuttle that takes you directly to the Studios.

Disneyland Park

South of Los Angeles (30 miles) in the locality of Anahaeim, a few kilometers from Orange County, stands this huge and sparkling theme park; that from 1955 accompanies the childhood of millions of children in the world!

President Reagan in 1955 inaugurated this enchanted place, the dream of Walt Disney, who created the most loved cartoons for adults and children.

The parks are actually 2: Disneyland Park and Disney's California Adventure.

In fact, as soon as you park the car, take the shuttle to the parks; in a few minutes even if you have previously purchased the entrance ticket, 2 possibility will open before your eyes.

Disneyland Park and Disney's California Adventure, your ticket includes the entry of a single park; KANOA RECOMMENDS TO ENTER THE DISNEYLAND PARK LEAVING A SECOND MOMENT THE Disney's California Adventure.

As the latter, although very large and with very suggestive scenarios, typical of California; includes less rides, among which, we point out the adrenaline-filled races of: Twilight Zone Tower of Terror or the Radiator Spring Racers (Cars cardboard)

The Disneyland Park (recommended) instead; is in our opinion the best of the two, the entrance is placed in the fantastic castle of the sleeping beauty; where all the park's activities take place.

The children, we are sure that they will fade towards Fantasyland and Mickey's Toontown; where they can try their hand at the attractions inspired by the cartoons by: Pinocchio, Snow White; Alice in Wonderland, Dumbo and many others;

While in the Mickey's Toontown they will venture into the streets of Topolinia, home of Mickey Mouse, Minnie, also stopping by the famous Donald Duck.

Do not miss:

Tarzan's home and the Indiana Jones Jeep at Adventureland; Jack Skeletron's house and the Pirates of the Caribbean barques in New Orleans Square; Splitter Mountain by Critter Country.

Tomorrowland is another section of this fantastic park, with a part dedicated to science fiction; you will also find some of the latest cartoons; like Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, the famous submarine trips of "Finding Nemo" and last but not least ... Star Wars!

OUR ADVICE:

Since the park is very large, we recommend that you first decide which 2 / 3 attractions to really consider.

One of the options you will have is the Fast Pass; at the entrance you will be provided with maps of the park, on the map the main rides will be flanked by a logo with the initials FP; precisely Fast Pass.

The rides that provide for the Fast Pass, you will find machines, where, by entering your ticket, you can pick up a coupon, indicating a time slot.

If you present yourself at the entrance of the carousel with your coupon, at the appointed time, you will enter avoiding most of the row.

Finally we suggest to organize your day at the park for good; taking advantage of the lunch and dinner times, where everyone will go in search of fast food, to visit with less crowd the attractions that you want.

Kanoa's staff wish you a safe journey and remember that if you want to follow our advice, we are sure you will not regret it.
