DAY 1 WEEKEND TO CLUJ NAPOCA
Union Square it is a bit 'the centerpiece of this city. The perfect place to start your weekend in Cluj Napoca.
The large square is really beautiful, surrounded by beautiful eighteenth-century buildings, and the charming church of San Michele. At the center, to admire the equestrian statue of Mattia Corvino, sovereign of Hungary.
Not far from the central square, the most important points of interest in the city are concentrated. Starting, of course, from the Church.
La Biserica Sfintul Mihail, dedicated to the cult of San Michele, built around the middle of the fourteenth century, it is the most important gothic building in the whole country.
Majestic, and with slender forms, this church also impresses with its beautiful interiors with three naves, with works of art and medieval frescoes.
Do not miss during your weekend in Cluj Napoca.
On the eastern side of the square is the Banffy Palace, from the 1959 headquarters of the Art Museum.
The Palace, in Baroque style, is of 1770.
The museum, rather interesting, is one of the landmarks of the Region, and of the whole country, especially regarding the religious art section of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.
Often, it hosts extremely interesting temporary exhibitions.
