HOW TO GET
TheMR Štefánik Airport, also known as Letisko Milana Rastislava Štefánika, is the main airport of all Slovakia. It is less than 10 kilometers north-east of the capital. It has only one terminal but is able to accommodate about 5 million passengers a year.

The city center can be added comfortably by public transport. THE'bus n.61, departs from the airport terminal and arrives in the center; the terminus is Hlavná stanica, the Central Railway Station. The bus runs daily, from Monday to Sunday, including holidays, from 04: 45 to 23: 25. Being a simple urban bus, you pay the ticket from 0,90 € (ticket 2 zone / 30 minutes) to reach Hlavná stanica; in case your destination should continue, it is preferable to buy the ticket from 3 or more zones.
After the 23: 30 the night line is operating. The N61 bus departs from the airport and arrives at the Central Station. It is active all night, up to 04: 30.
Alternatively, during the day, you can reach the center with the bus 96. It always starts from the airport, with Prokofievova terminus. The base to the destination area, you have to choose the type of ticket. The bus observes the timetable of the 61.
Please note that to transport medium / large luggage, it is OBLIGATORY the purchase of a special ticket from 0,35 €.
Tickets must be purchased in advance. At the airport, the automatic machines are located in the Arrivals area; in the "departure" terminal room, you can buy tickets at the newsstand.
Hlavná Stanica is the Central Railway Station, a major hub for rail links across Slovakia. From here, direct trains leave for Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland, Serbia and Hungary. In summer, connections to numerous Croatian destinations are guaranteed. There is obviously no shortage of connections to Vienna, not far from here.
Eurocity, Intercity and EuroNight trains arrive in Berlin, Budapest, Košice, Ostrava or Prague. Regional trains arrive in the main Slovak destinations.
Bratislava can easily be reached by car, thanks to the excellent motorway network that arrives directly in the city. The road system of all Slovakia is modern and efficient. From Austria, Slovakia, Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary, you can arrive at your destination without ever abandoning the motorway.
Bratislava can be reached from Vienna in just over an hour and just 80 kilometers. The city is almost next to the border with Austria. From Budapest, you have to travel 200 kilometers; Prague is just over 300 kilometers, and Munich around 520, passing through Salzburg. For those wishing to tackle a trip from Italy, distances are not prohibitive; Venice is 650 kilometers. You reach the destination by crossing Austria and following the signs for Vienna.
If you are traveling by car, you must remember to always buy the compulsory stamp during the crossing of the Austrian, Slovenian and Swiss motorways.
