Practical information to reach Brasov by car and train from Bucharest




The main door of Transylvania!

A picturesque, medieval-looking town, Brasov is the most important city in all of Transylvania, and the second largest in terms of population and population throughout Romania. Located in a depression of the Southern Carpathians, the City is a cluster of charming alleys and narrow streets and baroque façades, and the famous Mount Tampa to frame.

HOW TO GET

The city does not have an airport, however, those wishing to use this vehicle (recommended) can refer to Bucharest or, alternatively, to the city of Targu Mures; Brasov, in fact, is located perfectly in the center of both airports at a distance of about 170 km. Given the largest offer, we recommend that you make a stopover in Bucharest.

AIRPORT-CITY CONNECTIONS

From Bucharest, the recommended method to reach Brasov is the car, with which you can make a wonderful tour in Transylvania. On the other hand, whoever wants to use only the means, we recommend the train.
From the airport you must first reach the Central Railway Station: it is possible to do it by bus Express 780 or with the recommended Train Henri Coanda Express, which is taken in Balotesti, about 700metri from the airport. From here, the train that arrives at the Bucharest Gara de Nord station leaves in about an hour. The ticket costs 6.80LEI.
From Bucharest Gara de Nord trains leave connecting Brasov in 2 approximately one and a half hours.

From the Transylvania Airport of Targu Mures, the Low Cost Wizz Air it makes two weekly flights from Rome Fiumicino. We point out, however, the difficulty in reaching Brasov from this airport, because there are no direct connections. You must stop at Sibiu o Deda, also employing over 5 hours. Keep this in mind only if you would like to rent a car.
