Move to Hamburg
Urban transport is well managed by the HVV company through an efficient integrated system on iron, rubber and even ferries. Like all German cities, special attention is also given to bicycles in this city; in fact, there are many cycle paths.
Tickets can be purchased according to area and type. Depending on the time of your stay we recommend the ticket from 1 day-central area for 6,80 € or the one from 3 days at the cost of 16,50 €. All information on the route, prices and timetables can be found on the company's official website.

The most frequented and interconnected service of the City is represented by the U-Bahn e S-Bahn. The Unterbahn (underground) serves the central area; the Schnellbahn (light rail) operates, however, especially in the suburbs. They are the ideal means to move around Hamburg.
Both lines are distinguished by color and number. Often, using vehicles on iron, you will find the abbreviation USAR (or U / S / A / R) that collects four types of service: U-Bahn, S-Bahn, AKN and regional trains. Tickets must ALWAYS be purchased before boarding and can be used in combination with buses.
Timetables differ depending on the line and, above all, on the day, arriving to extend over the weekend even during the whole night.
Road transport is organized in MetroBus, SchnellBus, regional and others.
The Metrobus numbers are red in the white field, those of the city and regional buses are white in the red field. As well as those of the SchnellBus, which however bear the inscription "SchnellBus": to travel on these means, you have to pay an additional fee.
There are many types of tickets and season tickets to travel around Hamburg. Tickets vary according to the area. The area marked with the letter A, is the only one that has interest because it crosses the tourist part and a limited number of more suburban areas of Hamburg.
The ticket for a short trip (Kurzstrecke), valid for the AB areas, costs 1.70 €. The single journey, zone AB, or for two trips, costs € 3.30; the ticket for 3 movements costs 5.40 €. The day ticket costs 7.80 €; allows unlimited travel on all vehicles within the 24 hours. There is also a reduced version of the daily ticket, valid after the 09: 00 in the morning; costs 6.50 €.
If you intend to move and visit the attractions, Kanoa recommends buying the HAMBURG KARD, available in 5 different types, for as many days, and two versions (Single or Group). The single card can be used by an adult and up to 3 children within 14 years. The version by Group is very interesting; at an extremely advantageous price, it is valid for adult 5, regardless of age. In this way, un0 the whole family can really save money.
The one-day CARD, single version, costs 10.50 € while the group one, 18.50 €: saving is evident. The 5 days version instead costs 41.90 € (single) and 74.50 € (group). The Card also entitles you to unlimited access on all public transport and numerous discounts up to 50% on the main attractions of the city.
As mentioned, also in Hamburg great importance is given to "two wheels". StadtRad is the automatic bicycle rental service that allows you to rent a bike in any of the special points scattered around the city. At these stations you will find an electronic "totem": by credit card, you can register for the rental system, at the cost of 5 euro. An excellent eco-friendly way to get around Hamburg.
For each registration you can take up to 4 bicycles; the cost of the rental is initially deducted from the 5 euro of the registration. The first half hour of rental is free, from the 31-th to the 60-th minute the cost is 4 cents per minute and over the 60-th minute the cost is 8 cents per minute. For 24 hours the rental costs 12 euro.
Bikes can be picked up and / or parked at any of the available parking stations. Every time you take the bike, please login to the totem with the credit card used for registration.
