Getting around Amboise and the nearby Loire on foot, by bike or by bus

Given the small extension of the center, the best way to get around Amboise is on foot. Moreover, the distances are not even excessive, moving away from the Old city.
On foot, you can also easily move from the train station, just 500 meters from the renowned Chateau. Buses and, above all, bicycles, are valid solutions to cover medium / long-haul distances.

BICYCLE

A really comfortable and "eco-friendly" solution to move around Amboise and the surrounding areas. The most trained, will have no difficulty covering long distances crossing the charming Loire à Vèlo. It is a fantastic cycle route, which stretches for 900 kilometers between Castles, villages and evocative landscapes. The path, well identified by a special sign, will take you to discover the beauty of this magical land.

In the city, you will find numerous agencies to rent your bicycle. At Quai du Général de Gaulle, you will find Detours de Loire Amboise that offers the possibility to rent a bike, and leave it in one of the agencies scattered throughout the territory. The choice is wide enough, and competitive prices.
