Sa Carneiro is an international airport located about 11 kilometers from the center of the Portuguese city of Porto. For passenger volume, it is the second busiest airport in the country, behind the Lisbon airport. It is named after Francisco Sa Carneiro, Portuguese Prime Minister, who died in a plane crash.
Inside the Terminal, numerous refreshment points, bars and fast-food outlets with international gastronomic proposals are available to travelers. You will also find shopping, shopping and duty-free areas.

The Sa Carneiro airport is well served by public transport. Alternatively, you can use the metro, bus and shuttle to reach the center of Porto.
In the Terminal there is a station of the Porto metro line, easily accessible by following the appropriate indications. The E line runs from the airport to the Estadio do Dragão station, passing through the city center. The metro runs daily, including holidays, from 06: 00 to 01: 00 at night, with frequencies ranging from 20 to 30 minutes. The complete journey, from the two terminus, takes about 40 minutes.
To travel by metro, you will have to buy the first time ANDANTE AZUL. It is a rechargeable card, and costs 0.60 €. The rate depends on the number of areas crossed from the airport to your destination. The aerliporto is located in the N10 area; the center, instead, is located in the C1 area. To make the move you will have to buy a ticket for 4 zone (Z4) at the cost of 2.00, with a validity of 75 'from the validation. The fare is the same for all travelers except for children under the age of 4 traveling FREE
Tickets and AZUL GOING CARD can be purchased directly at the airport at the appropriate automatic machines.
Outside the Terminal there is a bus station. The buses connect the airport of Sa Carneiro with different areas of the city. STCP manages the 601 and 602 lines that connect Cordoaria and Aeroporto with Xfrom routes: from 05: 30 to midnight. The 604 line, activated by 06: 00 at 21: 00, arrives, instead, at S. João Hospital. The same metro fares apply.
From the international airport, you can reach several Lusitanian destinations. To reach Braga and Guimarães, you can use the comfortable and efficient buses of Getbus. The price per adult, per one way, is € 8.00 per adult, and 4.00 € per child. Active from Monday to Friday, from 08: 00 to 22: 00; Saturday, Sunday and holidays, from 09: 00 to 18: 00.
